FOSTER HOMES ARE URGENTLY NEEDED!
Most rescue dogs (surrendered by owners or transferred to us from animal shelters) are placed in a foster home prior to adoption. Most of the rescue groups are inundated with dogs right now and sometimes have to turn away dogs because there is no place for them to go (unlike animal shelters, we do not have a brick and mortar facility in which to temporarily kennel dogs). Besides, the foster home can help with housetraining, if needed, and observe the dog's personality and behavior to help match the dog with the most appropriate home. If you would like to foster, please contact the rescue group for the breed(s) of dogs you are most interested in and offer your services. Foster homes are urgently needed! For more information, please go to the "How You Can Help" page. Thank you!

PET STORES AND PUPPY MILLS — Please consider adopting a dog from us, an animal shelter, or a reputable breeder. When you purchase a puppy from a pet store, you are supporting puppy mills and the suffering of thousands of puppies and dogs. NO REPUTABLE BREEDER WOULD EVER SELL PUPPIES TO A PET STORE. They will tell you the puppies come from "farms" or "ranches" when in fact the puppies come from commercial mills and breeders. If they offer to "deliver"' the dog to you, beware - they may not want you to see where the dogs are coming from. You will be paying a lot of money for a puppy that will generally be in poor health. Please do not buy a puppy from a pet store! For more information on pet stores and puppy mills, go to http://hsus.org/ and read the results of an investigation done by the Humane Society of the United States. Each of us can play a small part by not supporting puppy mills. Thank you!
